Death reported after Logan Co. man found in pool

LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. – A death investigation is underway after a man was reportedly found in a pool in Logan County.

According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded Saturday to a residence off of the 100 block of Tanner Road for a death investigation.

Authorities say a 911 call came in around 3:32 p.m. regarding 25-year-old Joseph Hunter Merrill of Russellville being found unresponsive in a pool.

Deputies say it was unclear how long Merrill had been in the pool when he was found.

Merrill was removed from the pool, authorities say, and lifesaving measures were attempted but unsuccessful.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Lewisburg Fire Department, Logan County EMS, Adairville Police Department and the Logan County Burden Bearers.

This case remains an active investigation.
