Crews rescue dog from sinkhole in Jessamine County

JESSASMINE COUNTY, Ky. – One pup is back on solid ground thanks to a response team in Jessamine County.
According to Jessamine County Fire District, personnel were dispatched Saturday to a dog in a cave on Handys Bend Road.
The district says crews sent personnel into a small entrance while using a rope system.
A rescuer quickly made contact with the dog about 35 to 40 feet down, the district says. Crews say they then lifted the dog to safety using the rope system.
According to the district, the dog appeared to have no injuries, and no crews were injured.
