COVID and Flu vaccines available at Med Center

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – After a shaky rollout, a steady supply of the new updated COVID-19 vaccine is available at Med Center here in Bowling Green.

The health providers are encouraging people to get the jab, along with their seasonal flu vaccine as well. The two have been recommended together in order to reduce hospitalizations for serious illness, especially in the winter months.

“We have both COVID and flu shots available right now. They can be taken together. And the COVID vaccine this time is a new one. It’s not a booster, but it’s an updated vaccine,” Dr. Suman Shekar said.

The new vaccine covers the two predominant strains of COVID that are going around at the moment. This is not a booster like the original multi-shot doses of the COVID vaccine in 2020-2021.

Med Center accepts most insurance and has multiple options for those without insurance, including a program to give free or low cost shots to children.
