SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A Scottsville man has been arrested after officials say they located a large amount of methamphetamine.

According to the South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force, 49-year-old James Moore of Scottsville was arrested Tuesday.

Agents say they initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Moore on Union Chapel Road for traffic violations.

During the traffic stop, officials say a K-9 with the Allen County Sheriff’s Office gave a positive alert to the presence of narcotics in Moore’s vehicle.

The resulting search led to the discovery of around 113 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine and a pistol, authorities say.

Officials say Moore is a convicted felon and is not able to possess a firearm.

Moore remains at the Allen County Detention Center on charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine) and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
