Community reacts after body found in Robertson County

ROBERTSON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) – A Robertson woman is behind bars after the Kentucky State Police observed a dismembered body that witnesses believe to be her mother.
Trooper David Jones says KSP responded to a home on Brierly Ridge Road Wednesday afternoon after a man who arrived to work on the property made a horrific discovery.
Jones said two of the units at the scene discovered a body in the backyard. He says they obtained a search warrant to call in the special response team.
The witness believes he found the dismembered body of Trudy Fields, who he had last seen on Tuesday with her daughter, 32-year-old Torilena May Fields.
Torilena Fields was in the home when police arrived. Authorities say they had to use tear gas for her to eventually exit the residence.
Upon entry, the arrest citation stated there were body parts cooked inside an oven, with the pot still warm to the touch.
The witness also stated Torilena Fields was casting spells on him and a coworker when they arrived for work on Tuesday.
Jones said it’s the type of scene they never want to have to process. Locals in the mountain area are left shocked by its gruesome nature.
Mt. Olivet resident James McFarland said, “To me, where’s the mindset of the person at that point? Was she really mentally stable enough to know what she was even doing?”
The incident has shaken up the small town.
McFarland said of losing someone like this woman in this manner, “She’s a sweet old lady. Sweetest lady you can be around.”
Torilena Fields remains at the Bourbon County Regional Jail on a $25,000 bond. She currently faces charges of abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence (complicity) and obstructing governmental operations.
