Community comes together to Roast & Toast Abraham Williams

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The community came together to the Knicely Center at WKU to send off one of its pillars for the past 29 years.

Abraham Williams served as the director of the Housing Authority of Bowling Green after moving to Kentucky in 1995 from Phenix City, Alabama.

Thursday, members of the community came together for a roast & toast to celebrate his career.

We caught up with the man of the hour himself, who tells us what it means to see so many people come together to celebrate his career.

“This is just a great celebration of 29 years in Bowling Green. These are the people who helped make it 30 years… I even got kids that I coached Little League baseball together in 1972 and 73, they’re here… so I’m saying it’s just a blessing,” he says.

Warren County Judge Executive Doug Gorman, who served as emcee for the roast, mentioned all the stories that were told during the roast why Abraham was such a huge part of the community… and yes, all of them were 100% true.

We at News 40 send a huge congratulations to Abraham Williams on his career and wish him the best in retirement.
