City shares construction progress along Jennings Creek boardwalk

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The City of Bowling Green is sharing a construction update for the educational boardwalk loop at Jennings Creek Park.
According to a social media post, construction on the project is nearly complete.
The boardwalk will offer opportunities to explore, learn and experience nature along the Creekwood Greenway, the city says.
City officials say the boardwalk is part of a larger vision to create a connected park experience from the parking area near Jennings Creek Elementary and Moss Middle School, along the greenway and on to Greenhill Street.
“Our hope is that people can come here and feel like they’ve stepped away from the busyness of a growing city and into nature,” said Cameron Levis, recreation division manager. “We want the entire greenway to be an experience, with places to play, learn, explore, and simply enjoy being outside. Continuing to invest in this neighborhood also matters deeply. As we approach five years since the tornadoes, we want to keep showing up for a community that experienced so much loss and help create places where neighbors can gather and make new memories together.”
News 40 will provide additional updates as they are released.
