SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – New details have been released regarding one of Scottsville’s K-9 officers.

According to a Facebook post by Onpoint K9 Academy on Monday, the mayor of the City of Scottsville and the city board members voted to allow K-9 Nova to continue her job in communities.

This follows a release by the city last week that stated the City of Scottsville was accepting bids on K-9 Nova, along with a dog kennel.

Onpoint K9 Academy stated it would like to thank Scottsville police chief Darren Tabor, Gainesboro Police Department chief Mickey Smith, Scottsville mayor David Burch and the city board members for “allowing Nova to continue doing what she loves.”

The academy says it will follow the journey of K-9 Nova and Gainesboro officer Nate Belmonte.

News 40 will continue to provide updates on K-9 Nova’s new chapter as they become available.
