City of Edmonton set to receive funding for wastewater infrastructure upgrades

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Metcalfe County is set to receive wastewater infrastructure funding through House Bill 900.
According to a media release, Rep. Amy Neighbors, R-Edmonton, and Senate Majority Floor Leader Max Wise, R-Campbellsville, announced $6 million to fund “critical” wastewater infrastructure upgrades in the City of Edmonton on Tuesday.
The City of Edmonton will receive $2 million in fiscal year 2027 and $4 million in fiscal year 2028 for the City of Edmonton to support the project.
Officials say the project will support long-term stability and growth.
What They’re Saying
“Upgrading Edmonton’s wastewater system is something that has to be done right and done soon,” Neighbors said. “This investment helps make sure the system is reliable today while also preparing for future demand and addressing infrastructure needs. I’m grateful to the local leaders who make this work possible, and look forward to the benefits it will bring to all who call Edmonton home.”
“Wastewater systems are one of those essential services people rely on every day, and that businesses are looking to have as a baseline when considering where to make new investments,” Wise said. “This investment helps ensure Edmonton is in a position to maintain that service and continue moving forward. I want to commend Rep. Neighbors for her advocacy for this project. She was the leading voice behind securing this investment in Edmonton.”
