City of Bowling Green named KLC City Government of the Year

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bowling Green is being recognized as the state’s City Government of the Year.

The Kentucky League of Cities presented the award to the city for accomplishments in fulfilling its mission statement of being community led, service driven and powered by growth.

Bowling Green mayor Todd Alcott said, “This is recognition from our peers, which is over 400 cities in our Commonwealth, and they got to see all the amazing things that are happening. And they’re recognizing us as the No. 1 city in our Commonwealth. Bowling Green has got it going on.”

The city’s economic growth, the Beautify I-65 project, becoming a training hub for first responders and the riverfront development were among the accomplishments specifically mentioned.
