City of Bowling Green announces intersection closure, roundabout project

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Motorists will be impacted by an intersection closure this summer in Bowling Green.

The City of Bowling Green announced that the intersections of Westen Street and Highland Way will be closed Monday, June 17 through the beginning of August for the city’s roundabout project.

Direct routes from Campbell Lane down West Street to Greenview Hospital and any route to this area.

Motorists coming from Campbell Lane onto Westen will be detoured down to Smallhouse Road and down to Patrick Way.

Barricades will be in place leading up to the closed intersection. All four approaches will now include “local traffic only” or “closed to through traffic” signs.

The city says the signs are to indicate to motorists that live or conduct business in the area between the barricade and the closed intersection will still be able to travel to their destinations.

There will be barricades placed leading up to the closed intersection on all four approaches that state either “local traffic only” or “closed to through traffic” which simply means that if you need to be within the area between that barricade and the closed intersection (if someone needs to access a business or residence) that they will still be able to do so.
