Chick-fil-A hostess celebrating 92 years of life
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- A familiar face to many, Ms. Anne of Chick-fil-A goes above and beyond in her work, and while she is usually known for celebrating her customers, today she is the one being celebrated. She strives every day to make a difference in the lives of others, and her hard work does not go unnoticed.
A frequent customer of the Chick-fil-A, Bill Keown, says, “She just has the will to want to wait on people and make a difference in their life and a grace to be able to talk to anyone. She treats no one differently; she shows love and compassion towards all.”
Bill and his wife are sure to visit Chick-fil-A weekly to spend time with Ms. Anne, but they are just two of the many people she has left a mark on
Owner and operator of Chick-fil-A, Andy Robinson, says, “She was just a huge part of people’s experience coming through Bowling Green, and so I think that they all remembered that, and so we often have people coming through looking for her, and maybe it’s not quite as much about Chick-fil-A as it is about Ms. Anne.”
On Wednesday, Ms. Anne celebrates turning 92, and although she asked to work on her birthday, she keeps the same mentality as any other day.
Ms. Anne Mimms, says “My prayer is every day that I will make a difference in somebody’s life each day that I’m here. Help them in some way. A lot of people come in and have problems, or people are happy and they want to share with me, that’s fine. It takes a little extra time but in the long run, it’s worth it.”
Ms. Anne received hand-written birthday cards from a family she met over two years ago in the dining room of Chick-fil-A. “It touched my heart,” she says, and that feeling is mutual.
Ms. Anne says, “Being able to maybe feel like I have helped somebody, and for what they’ve done for me. They feed me too. My customers also feed me, so I’d like to think it’s a joint adventure of feeding each other.”
If you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Anne herself, she invites you to stop by and say hello at the Scottsville Road Chick-fil-A location.
