Caverna schools closed due to possible threat

HORSE CAVE, Ky. – Caverna Independent Schools are closed Friday.

Superintendent Amanda Abell released a statement Friday morning. In the statement, Abell says a possible threat was made against Caverna High School. The school system was contacted by the Kentucky Protective Security Advisor in the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.

The threat was sent to the FBI and Kentucky State Police are investigating the possible threat.

Abell made the decision to close Caverna Independent Schools on Friday due to the threat. The statement also says the school district will notify parents and family of the results of the investigation once complete. The district says it will prosecute to the full extent of the law.
