Cave City police respond to hotel, charge man with possession

CAVE CITY, Ky. – A man is charged with drug possession.

On Wednesday, Cave City Police Officer Wesley Hicks responded to a call to Travel Inn Hotel on reports that a subject was screaming.

Office Hicks stated that loud, distressful screaming was audible from inside a room at the hotel. Hicks made entry to the room.

In the room, Officer Hicks located a black male identified as Adrian Boyd. Hicks states that Boyd was screaming someone was shooting at him and was after him.

Police allege that Boyd was showing visible signs of being under the influence of drugs and hallucinating.

Officer Hicks states that a glass pipe was located in plain view on the floor. Police suspect the pipe contained a crystal-like substance, believed to be methamphetamine.

Boyd was medically cleared and charged with possession of a controlled substance 1st degree – methamphetamine.

Boyd was taken to the Barren County Detention Center.
