Cave City police arrest woman on suspected drug possession

CAVE CITY, Ky. – The Cave City Police Department has arrested a woman on suspected drug possession following a traffic stop.

On Saturday, May 18, K9 officer G. Avery observed a red passenger car traveling south on South Dixie Highway. The vehicle had expired tags.

G. Avery detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

The operator of the vehicle, Jessica Martin, voluntarily withdrew a suspected marijuana “roach” from the vehicle.

G. Avery executed a probable cause search of the vehicle. During the search, Avery found suspected crystal methamphetamine.

G. Avery placed Martin under arrest.

Martin was lodged at the Barren County Detention Center.

Martin is charged with expired registration receipt, expired registration plates, failure of non-owner to maintain required insurance 1st offense, possession of Marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia-Buy/Possess, and possession of a controlled substance- 1st degree- 1st Offense- Methamphetamine.
