Cave City man arrested following police pursuit
CAVE CITY, Ky. – A man is behind bars after Glasgow police say he fled Monday during an attempted traffic stop on North Jackson Highway.
According to the Glasgow Police Department, the vehicle failed to stop and continued speeding before turning onto Goodnight Road, followed by Cap Redford Road. Eventually, the pursuit came to an end on Whitney Woods Road after the vehicle had left the roadway and came to a stop in a field.
Authorities stated the driver, Brandon Heath, 22, of Cave City, tried to collide with a police vehicle but did not hit the car. No officers were injured.
Heath was arrested and is in the Barren County Detention Center, where he faces several charges, including disregarding a traffic control light, reckless driving, speeding 26 mph or more over the speed limit, first-degree assault of a police officer (attempt), two counts, first-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), improper passing, failure to give right of way to an emergency vehicle, first-degree wanton endangerment (four counts – police officer) and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or a substance, second offense.
