Carroll County woman charged with child sexual exploitation offenses
CARROLLTON, Ky. – A Carroll County woman is facing charges related to child sexual abuse material.
The Kentucky State Police says around 3:35 a.m. on Tuesday, its Electronic Crime Branch arrested 33-year-old Chrystal Gail Birch.
Authorities say Birch’s arrest was the result of an undercover online investigation. Troopers say the investigation began after discovering Birch sharing images of child sexual exploitation online.
According to authorities, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Carrollton. Equipment was seized and taken for further examination.
The investigation is ongoing.
Birch is charged with two counts of distribution of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance under 12 years old and three counts of possession of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance under 12 years old. She was lodged in the Carroll County Detention Center.
