Butler County repaves Flat Rock Road with state grant
BUTLER COUNTY, Ky. – Through a grant from the Kentucky Department of Energy and Environment, Butler County has once again secured a grant that allocates some funds to repave its roads with Rubberized Modified Asphalt, giving new life to old tires and old roads.
Judge-Executive Tim Flener said the county was able to utilize the grant 4 years ago, and he said the county is happy with it. The state grant has several conditions, including application to a busy road as well as a long period of monitoring against conventional asphalt.
The Commonwealth is using these grants to overall study the efficacy of RMA, potentially moving Kentucky towards even more sustainability in the future.
