Bunce, Hinton and Robey sign college letters of intent

LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. – Friday morning out at Logan County High School, three Cougar athletes took the next steps in their academic and athletic careers by signing college letters of intent.

Starting with senior Rhiley Bunce who signed to continue her track and field career at Brescia University.

After joining the team and being unsure if she would enjoy how things would go, Bunce has spent the past couple of years growing her talents and falling more and more in love with the sport.

Now after her signing and final day of high school, she will prepare to take on Owensboro as a Bearcat.

Cheerleader Lilly Robey is also making the feline family switch, going from a Cougar to a University of Kentucky Wildcat.

The senior signed to become a part of big blue nation, joining a prestigious program that has won 24 national titles, with the latest being in 2019.

Robey’s accolades will undoubtedly continue to grow in the SEC, but her high school career saw a historic accomplishment in being a part of the first Cougar cheer team to place top 10 in the nation just a few years back.

Following the big day for both Robey and Bunce the two shared their future goals.

“ I want to get through it. I want to end up excelling in track and field and maybe go up to a higher level in it,” Bunce said.

“I definitely think I would like to put a new banner on their wall,” Robey said. “They have a gym in their facility, and they have banners where they’ve won national championships, and I would just like to put another banner on that wall before I leave.”

And also signing on Friday morning was Cougar baseball senior Brady Hinton, who has chosen Olney Central College as his next home.

Hinton has shown his ability to play many sports at a high level across his time at Logan County, from leading the Cougar football team in total scoring with seven receiving touchdowns and a two-point conversion in 2024, to averaging 5.4 points per game on the basketball court.

However, baseball is the one game that Hinton has always felt most attracted to, and with his team taking the 2025 13th District title, he’s already looking ahead to making a statement in the Fourth Region tournament next week.

“ You know, it’s been a couple years since the Cougars have even won a region game, so hopefully we can go in there and we can turn some heads,” Hinton said. “You know, not a lot of people are looking towards the Cougars, but I promise we got something to show ’em.”
