Bowling Green non profit center gets new name
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for the Higgins Center for Non Profits renaming event.
The building is being renamed after Fred Higgins, the previous owner of the building, who recently died.
Higgins was known by many people in the community for his generosity and kindness.
Those who described him say he was humble and cared about people.
“You know, sometimes, growing up, I felt it was something hard to live up to, but we are lucky to have that legacy. We are lucky that he was someone that we could look up to, that we would want to be like,” said Heather Higgins Jeffrey, Fred Higgins’ daughter.
The building is home to six nonprofits and a few businesses.
