Bridge in Simpson County to be replaced

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has announced a bridge replacement project in Simpson County.

The bridge on Pleasant Hill Road that sits over Mays Branch will be replaced, with work set to begin March 2.

Pleasant Hill Road is expected to be closed from March 2-April 25.

Message boards are expected to be installed in the coming days to give advance notice to motorists.

The nearly $340,000 project will create an upgraded structure to eliminate weight restrictions. The new bridge will be wider and have a guardrail.

The project is a result of the Bridging Kentucky Program, which is a plan to rehabilitate, repair, or replace more than 1,000 critical structures in all 120 Kentucky counties over the next six years.
