Bricks & Minifigs now open on Scottsville Road in Bowling Green
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The newest addition to the Bowling Green community has been building up piece by piece, and now it’s open to the public.
Bricks & Minifigs has opened its newest location on Scottsville Road in Bowling Green.
This is the franchise’s first location in South Central Kentucky, allowing Lego enthusiasts the chance to stay a lot closer to home instead of traveling to Nashville, Louisville or Lexington to get a mixture of new and harder to find sets and minifigures.
Co-owner Tony Lopez, a Lego fan himself, decided to open a location after his experiences in other stores in the region. When we spoke to him at their grand opening on Saturday, he said he was shocked at how many people showed up despite all the rain.
“It’s been great… the last count I saw, we’re at 400 people have walked through the door since 10 a.m. and we’re at 1:00 right now… pretty good turnout. I was afraid of the weather. I was hoping that wouldn’t turn people away, but I’m glad that the community showed up… and I’m glad that everybody’s having fun… A lot of people have actually thanked us for opening this store, and it feels great,” he says.
Starting in November, Bricks & Minifigs will host birthday parties for those in the community.
Lopez says as a collector himself, it’s a bit hard for him to look at these sets and not want to keep them for himself, but he’s glad to be a source for the community to either start or continue their Lego collection.
