BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – For less than the cost of some fireworks, you can save a life this week.

The Bowling Green – Warren County Humane Society says it has had hundreds of intakes in the last month alone.

As of Friday, June 30, the humane society had over 500 animals in its care. That’s with the addition of 538 animals within just two weeks.

BGWCHS says it is still in a code red, offering $25 adoptions in hopes of finding this sudden influx of animals a loving home.

Although the shelter is closed for the Fourth of July holiday and Wednesday, they will be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You can also stop by from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.

If you would like to inquire about adoption, you can visit the shelter at 1924 Louisville Road in Bowling Green.
