Bowling Green man shares story of being diagnosed with Lyme Disease

BOWLING  GREEN, Ky. – It was an innocent enough day at work for Chris Early. Although he was working outside, he didn’t notice he had been bitten by a tick. That is, until he began to feel ill.

Early began to feel pain around his left arm when he asked his wife to see if he had a rash. That’s when his wife, Amy, discovered a tick still attached. Over time, the symptoms just got worse. He began to develop tremors and was losing his eyesight.

For Chris and his family, developing Lyme disease from a simple tick bite has meant his wife has watched Chris give up a normal, active life.

And for Chris, the physical ailments haven’t been the worst part of Lyme disease. He says the physical pain has not been nearly as intense as losing his strength to function normally on a day-to-day basis.

The community has helped in various ways, even making sure the Early’s children had Halloween costumes. And, in the spring, Tidball’s will be hosting a fundraiser as part of their Live on the Lot concerts.
Still, the Earlys have one bit of advice: use insect spray and check yourself and your family for ticks.

The Earlys have a GoFundMe account. The link is: https://www.gofundme.com/f/lets-help-chris-early-beat-lime-disease?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=m_pd+share-sheet&fbclid=IwAR3aXxLiceKQ66j8yQgxmb6HOnE9x59rdJSg8wlIq3MvRhBfFqj6xXYuynI.
