Bowling Green police respond to fatal collision on Louisville Road

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bowling Green police have confirmed one person is dead following a crash on Louisville Road Friday evening.

Bowling Green Police Department public information officer Ronnie Ward said police responded to the scene near the Price Less IGA and Hardy & Son Funeral Home.

Ward confirmed a white SUV was traveling northbound in the right lane when the SUV passed a vehicle in the grass on the right side of the roadway before reentering the road and colliding with a vehicle traveling north in the right lane.

Police say the SUV then exited the left side of the road, crashing into a light pole and becoming airborne. According to police, the SUV crashed into a passenger car traveling south during this time.

The driver of the passenger car was killed on impact, police say. An identity has not been released at this time.

The driver of the SUV was flown to a Nashville trauma center. The front passenger in the SUV sustained minor injuries, while an infant in the back seat was not injured. A passenger in the car traveling south sustained minor injuries.

The driver of the car traveling north was also not injured.
