Bowling Green man formally charged with rape, sexual abuse

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man has been indicted in connection with an alleged rape case from March 2024.

According to court records, 23-year-old Cristian G. Munguia was indicted May 8 on charges of first-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse and first-degree wanton endangerment.

In a uniform citation, Bowling Green police officers state they responded on March 16 for an overnight disturbance at an apartment located on Barnwood Avenue.

Police say they were told Munguia allegedly forced his way into a room that night and held a knife to the victim’s neck during the incident.

According to the uniform citation, Munguia fled the scene and was found in a wood line and taken into custody.

He remains at the Warren County Detention Center.
