BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is facing multiple charges after allegedly driving under the influence early Friday morning.

According to a uniform citation, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded at 3:12 a.m. Friday morning to a reported injury accident at Nashville Road and Mitch McConnell Way.

Deputies say when they spoke to the driver of a tractor-trailer involved, he stated he was traveling through the intersection when the other driver ran a red light and struck his vehicle.

Authorities say the tractor-trailer driver also provided dashcam footage showing he had a green light when he pulled through the intersection.

Deputies say they then spoke to Pheonix Fuentes, 20, of Bowling Green, who was the driver of the other vehicle involved.

According to authorities, Fuentes stated he did not run the red light but “tried to beat it.”

Deputies say Fuentes had no visible injuries, however, his passenger sustained a minor injury.

Both Fuentes and his passenger stated that Fuentes was driving, according to authorities.

Authorities say Fuentes had multiple signs of impairment. According to deputies, Fuentes stated he had consumed a Four Loko about an hour before the incident.

The citation further states that Fuentes consented to a preliminary breath test, which showed a result of .138.

Deputies say Fuentes was manifestly under the influence of alcohol and was arrested.

According to authorities, Fuentes later stated he was driving while intoxicated and was “accepting of the possible consequences.”

Following medical clearance at The Medical Center at Bowling Green, Fuentes was transported to the Warren County Regional Jail.

He faces charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, first offense, disregarding a traffic control device – traffic light, failure to produce an insurance card, second-degree wanton endangerment and first-degree criminal mischief.
