Bowling Green man arrested as suspect in selling stolen catalytic converters
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is in custody today after being suspected of selling stolen catalytic converters.
The Bowling Green Police Department said Dzevad Ahmetovic, 41, of Bowling Green was developed as a suspect in selling the stolen catalytic converters through an investigation.
Just hours ago, police received a search warrant for Ahmetovic’s home and vehicle. Upon contact, Ahmetovic said he had just sold 33 catalytic converters in Somerset, Ky. for $9,400, according to police.
The BGPD said that Ahmetovic said he purchased the converters from a homeless person in the middle of the night early Saturday morning, and he had reason to believe they were stolen.
Ahmetovic was arrested Tuesday, April 26 and charged with receiving stolen property between $1,000 to $10,000 and violation of a Kentucky EPO or DVO.
Ahmetovic is lodged in the Warren County Detention Center.
Further investigation is pending.
