BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is facing multiple charges following a standoff on Wednesday.

According to a uniform citation, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call around 4:30 p.m. from a residence on Morgantown Road.

Deputies say the call disconnected before another call came in reporting an assault on a female and that the male was shooting guns into the air.

Upon arrival, deputies say they made contact with 68-year-old Donald Burch of Bowling Green, who began making threatening statements to law enforcement from his porch. Burch additionally had guns within reach, authorities say.

Due to Burch’s refusal to comply, statements and proximity to guns, authorities say he was held at gunpoint and ordered to move away from the firearms. Deputies say the victim was able to exit the home.

Officials say a standoff took place for several hours with Burch, who threatened to kill a member of his family and shoot another one.

According to authorities, the female subject on scene stated Burch had been “drinking and yelling at her” and that she had heard a gunshot outside while she hid away.

At around 10:18 p.m., authorities entered the home and arrested Burch without further incident. Burch remains at the Warren County Regional Jail.

He faces charges of first-degree unlawful imprisonment, third-degree terroristic threatening and menacing.
