Bowling Green man arrested after crashing vehicle into electric pole

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- A driver is behind bars, after authorities in Warren County said he struck an electric pole and left the scene of the crash.

According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened just before 9 p.m. Monday.

When deputies responded to the 4800 block of Mt. Olivet Road, they saw the vehicle engulfed in flames. The driver was no where to be found.

After a search of the area, investigators located the driver, Edgardo Lopez, 19, of Bowling Green, as well as a female passenger.

Deputies charged Lopez with a number of offenses, including, leaving the scene of an accident/ failure to render aid or assistance, third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree disorderly conduct.

The passenger was not charged.

Lopez was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.
