Bowling Green house fire results in death of pets

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – An early morning fire on Monday resulted in the death of multiple animals, fire officials say.

The Richardsville Fire Department says units responded at 4:35 a.m. that morning to Sunny Acres Mobile Home Park.

Firefighters say they were on the scene within 10 minutes, arriving at the home with visible flames from the front as well as half of the structure.

According to fire officials, crews entered and quickly gained control of the fire. During operations, firefighters say they were told that several pets were missing, which were later found dead as a result of the fire.

Firefighters were on the scene until 7:30 a.m. to confirm the fire was out, fire officials say. No other injuries were reported at this time.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
