1 transported after downtown Bowling Green structure fire

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Fire Department responded to a structure fire downtown on Thursday morning.

BGFD public information officer Katie McKee says the department was dispatched at 9:21 a.m. to a structure fire at 1118 E. 12th Ave.

Upon arrival, McKee says units saw heavy smoke coming from the building. Crews were able to quickly find the source of smoke, and the fire is currently under control.

One individual was transported by EMS to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. No other injuries have been reported at this time.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
