BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – New information is available about one Bowling Green church group that has safely left Israel.

Senior pastor at the Melrose Street campus of Broadway United Methodist Church, Adam Shourds, has been traveling with the group of about 20 people from the same church.

Shourds says Tuesday that he and the group safely crossed the border into Jordan and are waiting in a safe place for a flight back to the U.S.

Shourds says those plans are not yet known and to please keep the group in your thoughts as they continue to make their way back to Bowling Green.

Just after 12:40 p.m. Tuesday, Shourds posted scenes from what he says are a “five-hour border crossing.”

An update from the River Lake Church from Glasgow, Kentucky, a second group that has been in Israel, is still not confirmed at this time. In a social media update from River Lake Church’s lead pastor, Nic Smith, he said Monday the group was stuck but “safe” and “really good.”

This is a developing story.

We will continue to provide updates as information becomes available.
