“Boos and Brews” comes to downtown Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN – Ky. – A new event came to town on the evening of October 7, called “Boos and Brews”.

Preston Green, who’s voice you may know from radio stations WUHU and The Beaver, gave birth to the idea through his love for horror, film, and the Capitol theater. Green said he is quite the movie buff and spends a lot of time at the Capitol watching movies, with his favorite genre being horror, he wanted to bring the community together to enjoy the same type of entertainment he does.

Green worked to gain partnerships and sponsors for the event in order to offer the classic films “Friday The 13th” and “Halloween” to the community for free. He put out word he was looking for alcohol vendors for the event, because he felt the night wouldn’t be perfect without beer, and was taken up on the offer by Gasper Brewing Co. to provide a small selection of beverages.

In a small interview with News 40, the radio personality, he affectionately referred to the venture as his “baby” and “brain child”, also adding “we are talking literally a buck or two for popcorn and sodas, between the brews, it’s a great evening in downtown Bowling Green.”

Green was overjoyed by the turn out and hopes it’s something that can happen again in the future.
