Body of murder suspect found on bank of Cumberland River

KUTTAWA, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police is investigating after it says the body of a murder suspect was found at the bank of the Cumberland River.
Authorities say just after 2 p.m. CDT Monday, troopers received a call regarding a body found near the river at the end of McKinney Road in Lyon County.
According to the Kentucky State Police, the dead individual was identified as 37-year-old Darrion Young of Nashville, Tennessee.
Troopers say Young was later identified as a murder suspect and also was believed to be operating a vehicle that was located by KSP on the Interstate 24 Cumberland River bridge.
Previously, KSP says it began a missing person investigation for Young after finding the abandoned vehicle on March 13.
Authorities say the Metro Nashville Police Department requested an officer to attempt to make contact with the registered owner at an address in Nashville after MNPD located a dead female at the residence.
An autopsy for Young’s body is scheduled for Wednesday, April 1.
There is no foul play suspected in Young’s death, authorities say.
The investigation remains ongoing.
