Board approves pay increase for Metcalfe County Schools employees

EDMONTON, Ky. – The Metcalfe County Board of Education approved a pay increase for Metcalfe County Schools employees on Tuesday.
According to a release by the district, the board approved the salary schedule for 2024-25, which included a 6% across-the-board pay increase for certified employees and a $1.25 increase for hourly employees.
The salary schedule also included increased starting pay for Rank I, II, and III teachers, the district says.
Superintendent Josh Hurt said, “I appreciate the board’s willingness to approve a pay raise of this magnitude. Our staff works hard, and it is nice to be able to push our compensation forward for them.”
The release also states the board approved the tentative budget for fiscal year 2025, along with a new audit contract, the district’s professional development plan and the 2024-25 evaluation committee members.
In addition, the district says it recognized Emily Shaw, a senior at Metcalfe County High School, as Student of the Month.
Heath Garner was recognized as Classified Employee of the Month, while MCHS biology teacher Kelly Shaw was recognized as the Certified Employee of the Month.

The next board meeting is Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 6 p.m.
