Amelia Brett is the assignment editor and web content producer at WNKY News 40. She began her work with WNKY in February 2022.
Brett graduated from Western Kentucky University, where she studied journalism. She worked at several local newspapers and one magazine before extending to TV. She also gained social media experience while working at Pink Lily Boutique Fulfillment Center.
Amelia’s everyday responsibilities include assisting to manage social media feeds on both Facebook and Twitter, writing web stories, reaching out to news contacts for information, assisting with posting reporter content, covering breaking news over the weekend, watching for breaking news throughout the day, sharing reporter content schedules for the day, and pitching news stories at the beginning of each weekday.
