BGPD warns of landscaping scam

Landscaping Scam

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Police Department is warning the community of a new scam.

According to police, a group of three men are approaching residents and asking if they want pine straw in landscaping at their residences.

The subjects will give a low-price estimate and then charge thousands above the estimate when the work is completed.

Police say one incident included an estimate of approximately $100 given to a resident. When the work was completed by the subjects, the resident was given a bill of $3,700.

The department says three men in a white pickup truck pulling a screened-in trailer are suspected in this scam.

Police say to tell the subjects no and contact the Bowling Green Police Department by calling 270.393.4244.
