BGISD school bus rear-ended on U.S. 31-W Bypass

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – School officials say a vehicle rear-ended a Bowling Green Independent School District bus on U.S. 31-W Bypass Friday morning.

Cedric Browning, director of operations with the district office, confirmed the bus was turning from U.S. 31-W Bypass onto Riverwood Avenue near Kroger when the vehicle struck the back of the bus.

Six children occupied the bus at the time of the incident, along with the driver, according to officials, but no one on the bus was injured.

The driver of the vehicle was transported by EMS, according to Browning. The current condition of the vehicle’s driver is not available at this time.

Both the vehicle and bus sustained damaged in the incident, officials say.

BGISD superintendent Gary Fields confirmed in a tweet Friday that the students and bus driver transferred to another bus around 7:55 a.m. Friday.
