BGFD responds to fire at Sugar Maple Square shopping center
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Multiple units from the Bowling Green Fire Department responded to a fire at Sugar Maple Square last night.
Around 9:59 p.m. Thursday, the Bowling Green Fire Department received several calls about a structure fire at Sugar Maple Square on Highway 185.
Battalion 1, Truck 1, Rescue 1, Engine 2, Truck 4, Engine 4, Engine 5, Engine 7 and FI 1 responded and located a visible fire on the roof of the shopping center.
Rescue 1 and Truck 1 worked to find the fire, which crews extinguished once they located it on the roof. Crews worked additionally to clear the structure of any further fire.
Ronnie Pearson, director of Warren County Emergency Management, says preliminary investigation showed an electrical fire may have taken place. Electricity has been cut off to the affected portion of the building.
Pearson says the investigation is ongoing and they are waiting for more information.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
