Bethlehem hosts annual Christmas celebration

(CNN) BETHLEHEM – The West Bank town of Bethlehem hosted its annual Christmas celebration. The crowds were treated to the color and sound of parades, Christmas carols, and a midnight Christmas vigil.

Some Gaza Christians were granted permits to celebrate Christmas in the town — after Israeli officials had indicated they could deny permission.
