Belmark Inc. breaks ground on new plant in Allen County
ALLEN COUNTY, Ky. – At the Allen Springs Industrial Park, elected officials and Belmark Inc. officially broke ground on the company’s new plant.
Gov. Andy Beshear came into town to help celebrate Wednesday, reporting record growth and investment in Kentucky’s job market, saying that the last four and a half years have been very profitable for Kentucky, with $35 billion being funneled into the Commonwealth.
Beshear said Kentucky is moving up the ranks nationwide and will no longer be a flyover state after the boom the state has seen in recent years.
Belmark said they decided to settle in Allen County because they felt the area reflected who their company is, a small town who cares.
CEO Karl Schmidt said that what they are excited to offer 159 jobs to the area.
Construction is expected to start in the summer of 2025 and be complete by the end of 2026.
