Barren Inc. announces award recipients at the 2026 Achievement in Business Awards

 

GLASGOW, Ky. – Thursday morning, Barren Inc., The Barren County Chamber of Commerce held its annual Achievement in Business Awards News Conference and announced its 2026 Magnolia Award recipient and Small Business Person of the Year.

These awards recognize outstanding individuals who have demonstrated excellence in leadership, entrepreneurship and community impact in Barren County.

The Magnolia Award, sponsored by Houchens Food Group, recognizes a female leader who demonstrates excellence in the Barren County community. This year, the Magnolia Award will be presented to Mallie Boston with the Boys & Girls Club of Glasgow-Barren County.

Boston embodies the spirit of this award through her dedication to leadership, mentorship, and community impact. As a leader within the Boys & Girls Club, she has guided the organization through growth and transformation while expanding its reach and strengthening its mission.

Beyond her role, she brings people together, fostering collaboration and creating opportunities for others to succeed. A mentor, advocate and changemaker, Boston’s commitment to shaping the next generation and giving young people a brighter future makes her a truly deserving recipient of the 2026 Magnolia Award.

The Small Business Person of the Year, sponsored by The Peoples Bank, was also announced. This award recognizes a local business owner who demonstrates excellence in entrepreneurship and the operation of a successful small business.

This year, Zac Ross with Ross Wealth Advisory was declared as the recipient. Ross exemplifies this award through his dedication to his clients, his profession, and his community. Through his leadership, his business has experienced significant growth, allowing him to better serve individuals and families as they plan for their financial futures.

With a commitment to staying at the forefront of the financial industry, Ross ensures his clients receive knowledgeable, personalized guidance. Beyond his business, he is actively involved in the community, supporting local initiatives and investing in the success of others. His integrity, work ethic, and passion for helping others achieve long-term stability make Zac a truly deserving recipient of the 2026 Small Business Person of the Year Award.

Boston and Ross will be honored at the Achievement in Business Awards Luncheon on May 7, 2026, where they will serve as the event’s keynote speakers. At this luncheon, Barren Inc. will also announce the 2026 Administrative Professional of the Year, Farmer of the Year and Small Business of the Year.

The luncheon marks the beginning of Small Business Appreciation Month and provides an opportunity to celebrate the vital role that local businesses and community leaders play in shaping a thriving, supportive community.
