Barren County Schools to deliver meals in response to Covid closure

GLASGOW Ky.-Because of the temporary closure of the schools, the Barren County School District’s nutrition and food staff want to remind parents what it means for meals.

Since the transition to online learning came so suddenly, the district offered two days of hot breakfast and lunch pickup at all Barren County School campuses. These meals were offered Monday and Tuesday from 8 to noon.

On Wednesday, delivery for elementary students will take place. On Friday, delivery will occur for middle and high school students. Then, food will be delivered for the rest of the two-week closure.

Since the school district was operating on what is known as an a-b schedule, the first meal deliveries will happen in order to fill in the gaps of when students would have been in school.

Contents for what will be included with delivered meals will vary by school.
