Barren County Reads and Feeds program gets a donation

GLASGOW Ky.- The Barren County Reads and Feeds program is receiving a large donation, in the amount of $10,000.

The money came from the Glasgow Electric Plant Board where members have the option to donate their time or money for community needs.

One of those community needs is the Reads and Feeds program. Every summer, the Reads and Feeds bus travels to neighborhoods in the Barren County area, delivering meals and books to children in need.

Director of food and nutrition at the Barren County School District CheyAnne Fant said this is an exciting time for the program.

“This donation will allow us to feed so many families over the summer months. It will make a huge impact, and it’ll allow us to reach so many more families,” Fant said.

The Reads and Feeds bus currently travels to 30 different locations in the Barren County area.
