Barren County man charged in crash

TOMPKINSVILLE, Ky. – A woman’s vehicle was hit head-on in a crash involving a Barren County man last month, police say.
The Tompkinsville Police Department says it responded April 22 for an injury collision on Gamaliel Road.
Upon arrival, police say they located two cars in the road and one car in a field. In addition, police say a broken telephone pole was present at the scene.
Police say after speaking to several drivers, officers learned a woman’s car was hit head-on while in her lane of travel.
Police say they then spoke to the driver of the vehicle in the field, identified as Patrick Scott, 21. According to police, Scott had the odor of alcoholic beverage and appeared to be impaired.
Scott was arrested and taken to the Barren County Detention Center.
He faces charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, first offense, and eight counts of wanton endangerment.
Two other individuals have been arrested and face alcohol-related charges, police say. Two juveniles have also been cited on alcohol related offenses and released to their parents.
