BARREN COUNTY, Ky. – A Barren County freshman has been selected for the Disney Dreamers Academy Class of 2025.

According to Barren County Schools, freshman Ross Reed will join 100 other high school students from across the U.S. for the academy.

These students will travel to Walt Disney World Resort this March to explore their future careers, from technology and engineering to entertainment and design.

The Disney Dreamers Academy will take place from March 26-30. This program connects students with industry professionals, Disney executives and educators, offering workshops and seminars to help them develop skills in leadership, communication and networking.

Each participant was chosen from thousands of applicants based on essays describing their goals and aspirations. Students, along with a parent or guardian, will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Walt Disney World Resort.

“We’re excited to help these students pursue their dreams by providing them with the resources and support they need,” said Shannon Smith-Conrad, Walt Disney World ambassador.

Since its start in 2008, the Disney Dreamers Academy has mentored more than 1,700 students, many of whom have gone on to pursue successful careers in fields like art, engineering and journalism.
