Ballard County deputy jailer charged with sexual offense

WICKLIFFE, Ky. – A deputy jailer with the Ballard County Detention Center is charged following an investigation into an alleged inappropriate relationship with an inmate.

Authorities say at 1:43 p.m. on Monday, troopers received a call from the Ballard County Detention Center requesting an investigation into an inmate report of sexual contact with a deputy jailer.

A female inmate reported allegations of sexual contact with a deputy jailer, 60-year-old Robert Blair Terry of Arlington, to jail staff on Wednesday, March 18, authorities say, advising the sexual contact occurred in February.

Following an initial investigation, including interviews and reviewing video footage, troopers say Terry was charged with second-degree sexual abuse and first-degree official misconduct.

The investigation remains ongoing.
