Attorney General investigating mail-order abortion pills Logan, Simpson Counties

FRANKFORT, Ky. – An investigation of mail-order abortion pills is underway.
According to a release, Attorney General Russell Coleman announced a civil investigation into organizations regarding potential involvement in the unlawful mailing or delivery of abortion pills in Kentucky.
The release states that subpoenas were sent to six gas stations in Christian, Logan, and Simpson counties that advertised the pills.
The subpoenas, according to the Attorney General’s Office, are for information from the gas stations for advertisements that allegedly read “Pregnant? Don’t want to be? Learn more at Mayday Health.”
The Attorney General’s Office says the gas stations have 20 days to respond or they will face possible legal action to force compliance.
House Bill 3 prohibits the mailing or delivery of abortion-inducing drugs in Kentucky.
The Kentucky Consumer Protection Act prohibits deceptive or misleading communications with Kentuckians.
Mayday Health paid to run the ads at 104 rural gas stations in several states, according to the release.
Coleman asks Kentuckians to report the ads, suspects, and any other unlawful business activities to his office.
A representative of Mayday Health reached out to WNKY News 40 with the following statement:
“To raise awareness about the availability of reproductive health services to communities across the country, we publicize our website through social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram, as well as through billboards, plane-pulled banners, art installations, apparel, and other tangible media. Mayday itself does not sell, handle, provide, offer for sale, or distribute any medications. It also does not provide any medical or legal advice, charge any fee, collect any revenue related to the provision of medical or legal services, or obtain any other valuable consideration in exchange for disseminating its message. It does not benefit from the sale of abortion medication, and has no customers. Nor does it monetize its users’ data.”
