PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR/NBC News) — A Rhode Island man accused of abducting a 9-year-old child was ordered held without bail on Wednesday.
Luis Martinez-Romero, 34, was arraigned on charges of kidnapping a minor and second-degree sexual assault.
Police were able to catch Martinez-Romero within 24 hours of the abduction and assault of the girl, who had just gotten off of her bus in Providence, Monday afternoon.
Home surveillance footage showed a man taking the girl into his car just after 3 p.m. on Monday.
